James Raymond “Jimmi” Simpson, born November 21, 1975, is an American actor. Jimmi is known for his work in various television series including, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Newsroom, Psych, House of Cards and Hap and Leonard. He currently stars in the critically acclaimed HBO series, Westworld.

Jimmi was born in Hackettstown, New Jersey, and the youngest of three brothers. He graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Arts in theater. He then acted at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts.

In 2000, Jimmi made his film debut in Loser, a teen comedy. He then went to having guest spots in various television shows such as NYPD Blue and more. As well as roles in films including D.E.B.S., Herbie: Fully Loaded and Stay Alive. In 2008, Jimmi starred in The Farnsworth Invention on Broadway. He portrayed Philo T. Farnsworth, and it earned him a Theatre World Award.

Jimmi appeared as the fictional character Lyle the Intern on The Late Show with David Letterman from 2008 to 2009. During that time, Jimmi appeared in episodes of CSI, My Name is Earl, House and Psych. He had supporting roles in the films The Invention of Lying and Date Night. Jimmi appeared often on the series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as Liam McPoyle. He starred as Lloyd Lowery in the A&E series, Breakout Kings.

Jimmi appeared in films Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, The Truth About Emanuel and White House Down. He appeared as a recurring character on House of Cards (2014-2015). In 2016, Jimmi had a role on the SundanceTV series, Hap and Leonard, he portrayed Soldier. Jimmi currently appears as William in the series, Westworld
